Jean Schmidt is a professor of English at Austin University and prominent essay writer. Her works have been featured in such media as Guardian, CNN and New York Post. Her books on James Fowles and modern prose include Essays in the age of Facebook, Unknown James Fowles, James Fowles and his Creatures, The Renaissance of Modern Prose, Flowers of Forgotten Days and Blind Dot White Dot. She’s an editor at The Chronicles of Creativity and The Last Word Magazine. In addition to the University of Texas, she also taught at Chicago University.
